At the grand PS4 reveal last night, Sucker Punch debuted this trailer of Infamous: Second Son… and now I want a PS4.
For the third full game in the series, they’re moving away from the electrifying Cole MacGrath and installing a new hero – the smokey Mr. Deslin Rowe.
Rather than the fictional Empire City and New Marais, Second Son will take place in an the actual, totally real-life city of Seattle. If that’s a good thing or not is up to you… personally I liked the universe of a world consisting of thinly veiled pastiches of existing cities full of morally undecided ubermensch.
The game is set seven years after Coles (mis)adventures and, as you can see from the image above; Seattle is on lock-down. Which makes a LOT of sense after the events of the first two games not only introduced superpower-based terrorism to the public, but also supervillain occupations of at least two major cities. Those conduits pretty much ran the block back in E.C. and N.M., the DUP (Department of Unified Protection) is taking the streets back… with checkpoints, and patdowns, and lots and lots of cameras.
The DUP might not be up to the job though… Rowe runs right through a SWAT team and he’s just shown up! He hasn’t even unlocked any of the coolest powers yet! Ember-Teleportation is pretty awesome though.
