There’s a beast in every man, and it stirs when you put a sword in his hand.
– Jorah Mormont
Game of Thrones is back on HBO on March 31st!
The new series is based off the first half of the third book in the series (which is definitely worth a read if you can run through 900+ pages in a month), Storm of Swords.
All those wars that were on the horizon by the end of season 2 looks ready to inflame Westeros as armies mobilise, boats burn, dragons fly, and Joffrey remains a little sh*t.
There’s been a commitment from the writers that they will be including characters that didn’t make it into the second season including Jojen and Meera Reed, and the Bolton clan, so any worries that the series will diverge too far from the books can be assuaged for the minute.
To make time to introduce all the characters and story arcs that need introducing, each episode is getting expanded to 56-7 minutes from the previous seasons 52. That pretty much means we’re getting 11 episodes of content in the 10 episode series, and God knows they’ll need it; SoS is the longest and richest book in the series.
